New Delhi, Dec 6: Unknown gunmen in Pakistan’s Karachi have assassinated Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Hanzla Adnan, who planned the 2015 attack on a BSF (Border Security Force) convoy in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.
Regarded as having close ties to Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Hanzla Adnan was shot outside his residence during the nights of December 2 and 3. His body bore four bullet wounds.
According to sources, the Pakistani army clandestinely transported the LeT terrorist to a hospital in Karachi, where he later died from his injuries on December 5. Hanzla Adnan had recently relocated his operational headquarters from Rawalpindi to Karachi.

Plotted Udhampur and Pampore attacks
In 2015, Hanzla Adnan orchestrated an assault on a BSF convoy in Udhampur, resulting in the death of two BSF soldiers and injuries to 13 other personnel. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was conducting an inquiry into the attack on the BSF convoy and subsequently filed a chargesheet.
In 2016, in the Pampore district of Jammu and Kashmir, the top LeT terrorist had orchestrated a terror attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy. Eight CRPF soldiers were killed and 22 injured in the incident.
As per sources, in order to inspire the recently recruited terrorists, Hanzla Adnan allegedly went to a LeT camp in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He was supported in his attempt to infiltrate India and carry out terror acts by the Pakistani army and the intelligence service Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
