Lok Sabha Speaker accepts resignation of nine MPs victorious in recent assembly elections

New Delhi, Dec 7: Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla announced on Thursday that he has accepted the resignations of nine members of the lower house of parliament, including Union ministers Prahlad Patel and Narendra Singh Tomar.

Following their victory in the most recent assembly elections, the BJP MPs tendered their resignations.

In addition to the two Union ministers, the other MPs from the Lok Sabha who tendered their resignations were Gomati Sai and Arun Sao from Chhattisgarh, Diya Kumari and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Rajasthan, and Rakesh Singh, Udya Pratap Singh, and Riti Pathak from Madhya Pradesh.

Kirodi Lal Meena, a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, has also tendered his resignation.
