PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, May 26: The Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued a weather alert for the state, forecasting thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds with speeds reaching up to 40–50 Kmph at isolated places.

The warning is in effect for today, May 26, and will continue on May 30 and May 31.

According to the latest update, an upper air trough extends from east-central Arabian Sea to north Odisha, passing through central Maharashtra, north Telangana, and south Chhattisgarh.

The trough lies between 1.5 and 4.6 Km above mean sea level and tilts southward with height.

In addition, a low-pressure area is likely to form over west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around May 27.

This development could further influence the weather pattern in the region, potentially leading to more rainfall and wind activity in the coming days.

People are advised to remain cautious, especially in vulnerable areas, and follow updates from local authorities.
