Jammu, June 5: In a major crackdown to disrupt terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched coordinated raids at 32 locations across the Union Territory on Thursday.

The operation targeted Overground Workers (OGWs) associated with banned terrorist outfits, as part of an ongoing investigation into a Pakistan-backed conspiracy to incite violence and radicalize youth in the region.

The searches, which began early in the day across multiple districts in Jammu Province, were conducted under the RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU case registered in 2022.

Officials familiar with the matter said the raids were based on actionable intelligence and aimed at crippling the terror infrastructure being used to disrupt communal harmony and peace in the region.
