Daltonganj, October 7: A ‘historical’ October 6 convocation of Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) or an ‘introspective’ convocation? Any academic debate will suffice to decide.
However, The Jharkhand Story has piecemealed the voices of the ground (venue) to find out if this 3rd convocation ceremony was any historical or first of its kind or if it has asked for more introspection. Had this convocation any novelty or it went on the predicted lines like the previous ones.
Undoubtedly this October 6 convocation was held amidst tense moments prevailing over weeks and weeks where a time came when it appeared there was no respite, all convulsion.

Student bodies’ clarion call and Vice Chancellor’s non flexible stand both looked unsupportive and hostile of each other. The atmosphere was getting closer and closer to collision than any of the reconciliation.

Sources said back in Raj Bhavan senior officials there too were apprehensive about the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) where ‘mail of malice’ used to reach digitally every day from here to Raj Bhavan.
The ‘mail of malice’ used to be invariably against the VC Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh who became ‘most popularly unpopular’ in only few months of his tenure while other VCs vanish from the full 3 years term without being noticed!
The Jharkhand Story refrains from making any remark whether this is any frailty of the VC or any glory of him.
Patience looked in short supply, anger and discontent in plenty. Both the side. However good sense prevailed over and the convocation passed off peacefully and gracefully.
The concern of the Governor cum Chancellor Santosh Kumar Gangwar opened a new vista of introspection. The Chancellor blamed none neither the university nor the students.

Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh described this convocation as ‘historical’. He must have his own reasons as it was he alone who bore the brunt most.
“No VC in Jharkhand has been in such a firing line as I have been dragged into but I believe my works will speak for me” he told this correspondent.
