New Delhi, July 7: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing the party of exploiting the Sikh community for political purposes and alleging foreign involvement in the 1984 Operation Blue Star.
In a post on X, Dubey claimed that the attack on the Golden Temple in Amritsar was carried out under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s leadership with assistance from British officials.
To support his claim, Dubey shared a letter written by Brian Fall, then Private Secretary to the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, addressed to Hugh Taylor, then Private Secretary to the UK Home Secretary.

According to Dubey, the letter confirms the presence of British military officers in Amritsar during the 1984 operation. “In 1984, Indira Gandhi launched an attack on the Golden Temple in collaboration with Britain, with British army officers present in Amritsar at that time. For Congress, the Sikh community is merely a toy,” he wrote.

The BJP MP further criticized a past decision regarding Kartarpur Sahib, stating, “1. Pakistan was finally given Kartarpur Sahib in 1960 through an agreement made by Sardar Swaran Singh.”
Dubey also accused the Congress of making symbolic appointments of Sikh leaders to deflect attention from the violence of 1984 and shield party members implicated in the anti-Sikh riots.
