Ranchi, Jan 25: The Jharkhand State Bar Council has taken serious note of an incident involving the throwing of chairs and ballot papers at members of the election committee on January 23, during the vote counting process for the Jharkhand High Court Advocates Association elections.
The council has warned to take disciplinary and criminal action against three High Court lawyers—Avnish Ranjan Mishra, Naveen Kumar Singh, and Dinesh Chaudhary—who were allegedly involved in this disruptive behaviour. A notice has been issued to the accused, directing them to respond within 24 hours if they claim to be innocent.

All three lawyers are accused of disrupting the election process for the association’s office bearers during the counting of votes. In a letter issued by Secretary Rajesh Pandey on behalf of the State Bar Council, it was stated that the actions and behaviour exhibited by the accused within the premises of the Jharkhand High Court were inappropriate and unbecoming of an advocate.
The council emphasized that such behaviour is unacceptable under any circumstances and has been taken very seriously. Consequently, the State Bar Council has indicated that it has no choice but to suspend the licenses of the three lawyers and initiate disciplinary action unless they provide a satisfactory explanation proving their non-involvement in disrupting the election process.
The accused lawyers are required to submit their replies to the allegations within 24 hours. If they fail to do so within the stipulated time, their licenses to practice as advocates will be suspended until further orders.
