Daltonganj, Dec 7: A second audit of the security of the civil courts’ premise was done on Wednesday in the presence of Principal District and Sessions Judge Niraj Kumar Srivastav after a gap of over two months.

It was attended by SP Palamu Reeshma Ramesan, DDC Ravi Anand, registrar of the civil courts, officials of the building division and sleuths of the Special Branch.

Court sources said the second security audit focussed on the court premise as well as on the three residences of the higher hierarchy here in the Palamu judgeship.

The first high-security residence is of the principal district and sessions judge.

Sources said the PDJ residence is well protected despite the railway tracks passing nearby it.

A road to the PDJ residence is shut for common people. The police in consultation with the civil administration got it closed for the commoners for over a year or so ago.

Close to this residence is the residence of the assistant superintendent of police cum SDPO.

The second residence is of the chief judicial magistrate. It is located in a posh area having no history of any major crime in the past 10 years or so.

The third is the Judges’ Colony. It is close to the private bus stand where right from the frequencies of the buses down to the bikes and bikers and pedestrians are all hectic.

The premise of the civil courts is safe as even when the left-wing extremism was at its peak here, the premise of the civil courts was most safe and secured.

There is no instance of any major calamitous type of violence or offence barring some few unpleasant scenes breaking out between the advocates fraternity or between the advocates and the clients.

Sources said whenever any crime happens either in the premises of the court or in the jail like Dhanbad where an inmate who was a gangster was shot dead right in the judicial remand in the jail, such security audits are initiated across the state.
