PM Modi begins two-day meditation in Kanyakumari, performs Surya Arghya

Kanyakumari, May 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered Surya Arghya at sunrise at Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari on Friday. Modi has reached the Rock Memorial for two days of meditation practice.

After joining his hands in reverence, the Prime Minister performed the ritual of Surya Arghya. Surya Arghya is a spiritual practice that involves offering water to the Sun God as a mark of respect and devotion.

BJP posts short video on X

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) posted a brief video on the social media platform X, showing the Prime Minister offering water to the sun with a lota (water vessel) and chanting prayers.

In the post, the party wrote, “Sunrise, Surya Arghya, Spirituality.” The BJP also shared some pictures of Prime Minister Modi, where he is seen in deep meditation at the Dhyan Mandapam, dressed in a saffron kurta, shawl, and dhoti. In the photos, incense sticks placed in front of him can be seen slowly burning. Modi also took a round of the Mandapam with a prayer bead in his hands.

The Prime Minister began his meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the evening of May 30 and will continue in this state until the evening of June 1.

PM Modi reached Kanyakumari yesterday evening

As soon as the Lok Sabha election campaign subsided, PM Modi arrived in Kanyakumari on Thursday evening. Upon his arrival, he first visited the Bhagavathi Devi Amman Temple for darshan and puja.

During the puja, Modi wore a white mundu (a garment worn like a lungi in South India). The priests performed a special aarti for him and presented him with prasad, a shawl, and a framed picture of Goddess Bhagavathi Amman.
