New Delhi, Nov 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the ₹1 lakh crore Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund while inaugurating the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The initiative is designed to transform India’s research and development landscape by encouraging private sector-led innovation and boosting investment in deep-tech and cutting-edge technologies.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the scheme will be implemented over six years with ₹20,000 crore earmarked for FY 2025–26 from the Consolidated Fund of India.

It provides long-term, low- or zero-interest loans and equity support, including contributions to the Deep-Tech Fund of Funds, instead of offering short-term grants or loans.

Running from November 3 to 5, ESTIC 2025 has brought together more than 3,000 participants representing academia, research institutions, industries, and government bodies, alongside Nobel laureates, leading scientists, innovators, and policymakers.

The conclave serves as a collaborative platform to strengthen India’s science and technology ecosystem through panel discussions, keynote lectures, research presentations, and technology exhibitions.
