PM Modi launches ₹34,200 crore development projects in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday unveiled a series of development projects worth more than ₹34,200 crore, including ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.

At the event, he rolled out major initiatives in the maritime sector valued at over ₹7,870 crore, including the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock, a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, cargo facilities at Paradip Port, and the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal.

Other works include modern connectivity upgrades at Kamarajar Port in Ennore, coastal protection projects at Chennai Port and Car Nicobar, as well as bio-methanol and multipurpose cargo facilities at Deendayal Port in Kandla.

Beyond ports and shipping, the Prime Minister also launched and laid the foundation stone for projects worth more than ₹26,354 crore in Gujarat.

These include LNG infrastructure, renewable energy projects such as solarisation of Dhordo village, a 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and the HPLNG regasification terminal at Chhara Port.

He also inaugurated expansions at hospitals in Bhavnagar and Jamnagar along with highway projects to strengthen regional connectivity.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi inspected an exhibition linked to the programme and held a roadshow in Bhavnagar. He was also felicitated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during the ceremony.
