Aurangabad, Nov 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a massive rally in Bihar’s Aurangabad on Friday, took sharp aim at the Opposition’s Mahagathbandhan, ridiculing the alliance as divided and untrustworthy.
He accused the Congress of lacking confidence in its partner RJD’s manifesto, calling it “a packet of lies” that even allies hesitate to defend.
“The Congress itself does not believe in RJD’s promises, nor does it speak about their manifesto. The people of Bihar, too, have rejected their bundle of falsehoods,” Modi said, addressing voters ahead of the second phase of the state assembly elections.

Aurangabad, one of the 20 districts voting in the second phase on November 11, includes six constituencies—Goh, Obra, Nabinagar, Kutumba (SC), Aurangabad, and Rafiganj. The first phase, held on November 6 across 121 seats in 18 districts, witnessed a voter turnout of 64.5 per cent. Counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
Asserting that Bihar’s people have faith in the “Narendra-Nitish partnership,” Modi said, “From the first phase itself, it is clear—‘Phir ek baar, NDA sarkar… Bihar mein phir se sushasan sarkar.’ Bihar trusts the NDA because it freed the state from jungle raaj and set it on the path of development.”
Modi contrasted the NDA’s Sankalp Patra with RJD’s Pran Patra, claiming the ruling alliance’s promises are grounded in realism and progress. The NDA, he said, pledges one crore jobs over five years, women’s empowerment, skill development, and the creation of more ‘Lakhpati Didis.’
In contrast, the RJD manifesto, he remarked, dangles unrealistic welfare promises—cash transfers, jobs for every household, and other populist assurances.

Political circles have been abuzz with talk of a rift between the RJD and Congress, though both parties deny it. Modi, however, has repeatedly accused the RJD of sidelining Congress, alleging that it “snatched” the chief ministerial claim from its ally during seat-sharing talks.
The second phase of polling will cover 122 seats across 20 districts, including Aurangabad, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nawada, Jamui, Bhagalpur, and Purnia, marking the final round of voting in Bihar’s assembly elections.
