PM Modi visits LNJP Hospital to meet Red Fort blast victims

 

New Delhi, Nov 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital to meet and enquire about the condition of those injured in the Red Fort blast that occurred on Monday.

After returning from Bhutan, the Prime Minister headed straight to the hospital, where he spoke with the survivors, expressed concern for their wellbeing, and wished them a speedy recovery, according to officials.

He was also briefed by doctors and senior administrators about the medical care being provided to the victims.

Security was tightened in and around the hospital during the visit, as the injured continue to receive treatment for serious burn and blast injuries.

The tragic explosion, which tore through a slow-moving vehicle near the Red Fort traffic signal on Monday, claimed 12 lives and left several others injured.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also visited LNJP Hospital on Monday to meet the injured and review the situation immediately after the blast.
