PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Oct 28: If you feel jawans protecting the nation are our real heroes and you want to give a heartfelt tribute to those forgotten heroes who laid down their life to give us our comforts then you can do so.

Railway Protection Force (RPF), a paramilitary force under Indian Railways has launched a ‘Digital Memorial of Valour’ where one can digitally adorn a martyr’s photo with wreath and candle.

‘Digital Memorial of Valour’ a website to honour the sacrifices of its courageous personnel was launched on October 25 in New Delhi.

This is a unique digital platform where the citizens can pay their respects to the martyrs. This innovative website (www.digitalmemorialofvalour.in) is part of the Martyr’s Week Observance following the Police Commemoration Day on October 21.

Features of the Memorial

The website offers a solemn space for reflection and remembrance as it allows users to pay respects to the martyrs by digitally adorning their photos with a wreath and candle.

Visitors can also take a moment to pray and reflect on the supreme sacrifice of the brave RPF heroes.

The website features the photographs, names and ranks of 14 martyrs of the Force who attained martyrdom in the previous year and includes a comprehensive list of 1,011 martyrs from RPF and RPSF who have laid down their lives over the years in the service of the nation.

Subscription of Compendium

Aligned with the government’s ‘Digital India’ initiative, the ‘Digital Memorial of Valour’ serves as a platform for those who are unable to attend physical commemorative events.

This digital portal will provide a platform to ensure the participation of a larger segment of the population. In addition to paying tributes, the website invites users to subscribe to the digital copy of the ‘Compendium of Martyrs in RPF’, which was released today. The Compendium will chronicle the stories of RPF personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the nation over the past years.

As we honour these brave souls today, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the nation with the same dedication they exemplified.”
