THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

Ranchi, March 22: Following the call for a Ranchi bandh, the city witnessed a calm yet intense atmosphere, with all roads appearing deserted from early morning on Saturday.

Various tribal organizations took out a torch rally on Friday, demanding the removal of the ramp in front of the Siramtoli Sarna site. This protest was followed by a Ranchi bandh on Saturday.

While a few shops opened initially, bandh supporters ensured complete compliance, successfully closing even the smallest of shops.

In response to the bandh announcement, the Ranchi administration took special security measures, deploying over 1,000 police personnel to maintain order.

The administration’s vigilance was reinforced by the presence of 12 DSPs, including four trainee DSPs, and more than 30 inspectors, including station house officers.

Various areas of the city were monitored closely using drone cameras, CCTV, videography, and photography to keep a constant watch on bandh supporters.

Officers in the CCTV control room were actively tracking any disturbances. As of the latest update, no untoward incidents have been reported in Ranchi city.
