Jamshedpur, April 20: Swift police action prevented a possible violent incident in the Ulidih thana area on Sunday morning, as a youth carrying an illegal firearm was arrested before he could carry out a revenge attack.
Late-Night Tip-Off Leads to Action
Acting on a tip-off received around 3:30 AM by the Senior Superintendent of Police, a special team was formed under the direction of the City SP. The input suggested that a youth was moving suspiciously with a weapon and could be planning a serious crime.

Police quickly cordoned off Tower Maidan, Sankosai Road No. 05, and caught the suspect while he tried to flee. During the search, an illegal country-made pistol was recovered from his waist.

Accused Confesses Motive
The accused, identified as Avdhesh Kumar Yadav, a resident of Sankosai, told police that he had a heated argument with friends over liquor the previous evening. In anger, he armed himself to take revenge.
Police Credit Timely Intervention
Patamda DSP Bachan Dev Kujur said a major incident was avoided due to prompt police action. A case has been registered under the Arms Act, and the accused has been sent to judicial custody.
The operation was carried out by a team led by Ulidih OP in-charge Md. Sharik Ali along with other personnel.
