THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Ranchi, Nov 3: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will launch a three-week nationwide Home Contact Campaign from November 5, aimed at strengthening family and community bonds ahead of its centenary year (2025–26).

The decision was announced following the Sangh’s All India Executive Committee meeting held in Jabalpur from October 30 to November 1, attended by representatives from all provinces. The meeting reviewed organisational expansion, cultural awareness, and efforts to deepen national unity.

Birsa Munda at the Heart of Tribal Outreach
According to RSS Prant Karyawav Sanjay Kumar, central to the discussions was the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the tribal freedom icon revered as Dharti Aaba. RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said Birsa Munda embodied the spirit of Swaraj and self-respect, calling his life “an inspiration for unity, self-reliance and cultural pride.”

The Sangh will mark November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas (Tribal Pride Day) with programmes across Jharkhand and other tribal-dominated regions. Events will celebrate Birsa Munda’s message of “Abua Disum, Abua Raj” (Our land, our rule) — promoting awareness of tribal heritage, self-governance, and social harmony.

Home Contact Campaign: Reaching Every Household
Under the Home Contact Campaign, RSS volunteers will visit homes in cities, towns and villages to share the organisation’s work, literature and ideas.
The initiative focuses on five themes — social harmony, family unity, environmental awareness, self-awareness, and civic duty — aiming to build stronger community ties through person-to-person engagement.
Tributes and Broader Tribal Message
During the Jabalpur meeting, the RSS paid homage to 207 late dignitaries from across India, including four from Jharkhand. Among them was Shibu Soren, known as Dishom Guru, remembered for his role in Jharkhand’s formation and tribal welfare.
By honouring both Birsa Munda and Shibu Soren, the RSS signalled its intent to strengthen its connection with tribal communities and acknowledge their leaders’ role in shaping India’s social fabric.
Vijayadashami Events Reflect Growing Reach
The RSS also reviewed its 2025 Vijayadashami celebrations, held at 62,555 locations nationwide. In Jharkhand, over 74,000 people took part in 1,879 events, with 31,678 swayamsevaks attending in uniform — reflecting the organisation’s growing grassroots presence.
Cultural and National Remembrance
The meeting also commemorated the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ and the 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, remembering their role in nurturing India’s spiritual and cultural unity.
