Ranchi, Dec. 27: Justice S Chandrashekhar was appointed as the acting chief justice of the Jharkhand High Court today as incumbent Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra retires tomorrow on attaining the age of 62 years.
A law ministry notification said that Justice Chandrashekhar, the senior-most judge of the Jharkhand High Court, will take over as its acting chief justice on December 29.
Born on May 25, 1965, Justice Chandrashekar completed his LL.B. course from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi in 1993 and was enrolled as an Advocate with the Delhi State Bar Council on 09.12.1993. He started his practice in Delhi on both the Criminal and Civil sides.

He was standing Counsel for the All India Council for Technical Education and the State of Jharkhand in the Supreme Court.
He was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi on 17.01.2013 and, as permanent Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi on 27.06.2014.
