Srinagar, Nov 2: Officials reported that two terrorists were killed in a clash with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

The encounter occurred near Halkan Gali in the Shangus-Larnoo region of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Among the two terrorists killed, one was a foreign national, and the other was a local, officials stated, adding that their group affiliation was still being determined.

Following specific intelligence regarding the presence of militants, a joint operation was initiated by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF in the region.

As the joint team moved toward the suspected location, the hiding militants opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response that led to an encounter.

The operation is still in progress, and additional details are awaited, officials said.
