Chennai, Sept 27: Justice Shriram Kalpathi Rajendran on Friday took oath as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
At a ceremony at the Raj Bhavan, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi administered the oath to Chief Justice Rajendran.
Before his appointment here, Justice Rajendran was a judge at the Bombay High Court. He takes over from Justice R Mahadevan, who has been promoted to the Supreme Court of India.

Justice Rajendran, born on September 28, 1963, in Mumbai, hails from a family with ancestral roots in Kerala.
The Supreme Court Collegium proposed Justice Rajendran for the role of Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, and on September 21, President Droupadi Murmu approved his appointment.
