Dhanbad, Nov 6: Shocked doctors, senior residents/ tutors, and students of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad took out a candle march and demanded a probe into Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Ranchi post-graduate student Dr Madhan Kumar’s mysterious death.

The doctors and students assembled at the administrative building on Sunday evening and after paying condolence took out a candle march from the college to the Steel Gate in the respect of Dr Madhan. Dr Vinit Tigga of FMT and Dr Suman were leading the candle march.

Dr Madhan Kumar was a second-year PG FMT student of RIMS.  He was living in hostel number 5 on the college campus. His half-burnt body was found on Thursday morning.

The doctors and students of SNMMCH said that they urge the state government as well as the RIMS management to conduct a probe into the mysterious death of Dr Madhan Kumar and proper action against guilty persons involved in this crime.

“We also demand the government must pay proper compensation to the family of Dr Madhan Kumar and arrange strict safety deployment for students and medicos at all medical colleges across the state so that such type of bizarre incident does not occur on any campus in future,” said the protesting doctors and students.

The SNMMCH students also resolved to extend support to students and doctors of RIMS for justice to Dr Madhan Kumar.
