Ranchi, April 27: In a powerful endorsement of India’s commitment to fighting terrorism, BJP state president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm message during today’s broadcast. Marandi emphasised that the Prime Minister once again reiterated the nation’s unwavering resolve to act decisively against terrorism and those who support it.

Speaking at party gatherings where BJP workers and officials tuned into the programme at their respective booths, Marandi said, “The Prime Minister has reaffirmed that India’s 140 crore citizens stand united in the fight against terrorism. The whole world is supporting India in this endeavour.”

Development and Terrorism Cannot Coexist, Says Marandi

Marandi stressed that terrorism and extremism are the enemies of progress, and that Jharkhand must not lag in this critical fight. “Development and terrorism cannot go hand in hand. It is time to take tough action against terrorism and its patrons,” he said, rallying party workers across the state.

“Hemant Government Not Serious About Tackling Terrorism”

Turning his focus to the state government, Marandi accused the Hemant Soren-led administration of complacency in addressing growing terror threats. Referencing the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, he said that while the nation is united in demanding stern measures against Islamic terrorism, the Jharkhand government appears disengaged.

Marandi pointed out that the union home minister had instructed state governments to identify and deport illegal Pakistani nationals, but Jharkhand’s administration has shown little urgency. “Instead of taking firm action, JMM ministers and spokespersons are issuing irresponsible and insensitive statements,” he remarked.

In a direct message to the Chief Minister, Marandi said, “You will have many opportunities for politics, but now is the time to put the nation first. Respect the sentiments of three and a half crore Jharkhandis and take decisive action against terrorists.”

Security Concerns Rise Amid Increasing Terror Activity

Raising alarms about the security situation in Jharkhand, Marandi questioned who is providing shelter and resources to terrorists operating within the state. While acknowledging police efforts in arresting suspected terrorists, he warned that mere arrests are not enough.

“The real threat lies in the hidden networks and support systems sustaining these elements. Without dismantling these, Jharkhand cannot be truly secure,” Marandi asserted.

He urged the government to act swiftly and decisively, warning that the growing terror activity poses a grave risk to the state’s stability and future development.
