Jamshedpur, May 22: The state is expected to witness a spell of unstable weather conditions marked by thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and isolated heavy rainfall over the next several days, as per the latest forecast from the meteorological department.

On May 22, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds reaching 50–60 Kmph are likely to occur at isolated places across the state.

Moreover, heavy rainfall is expected in northeastern and adjoining central regions today.

From May 23 to May 25, similar weather is expected to persist. Thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 40–50 Kmph are likely at isolated places across the state, excluding northeastern parts, where wind speeds are expected to be slightly lower at 30–40 Kmph.
On May 26 and 27, thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds up to 30–40 Kmph are likely at isolated places across the state.

The prevailing conditions are attributed to an east-west trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over Punjab to east Bangladesh, passing through Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
Additionally, a trough in the middle tropospheric westerlies, located at 5.8 km above sea level, persists along Longitude 82°E, north of Latitude 25°N.

People have been advised to remain alert, especially in vulnerable areas, and take necessary precautions during this period of turbulent weather.
