Jamshedpur, May 6: Residents in the eastern, southern, and adjoining central regions of the state should prepare for light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms today.

The weather department has also warned of gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 Kmph, with possible lightning strikes in isolated areas.

This weather activity is attributed to an east-west trough extending from east Rajasthan to north Bangladesh, passing through Madhya Pradesh, southeast Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, at a height of 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

Weathermen advised people to stay indoors during thunderstorm activity and avoid taking shelter under trees or open structures during lightning.

Meanwhile, reports of rain and thunderstorm activity were reported from several places across the state last evening.

The rainfall activity resulted in a drop in day temperatures in most parts of the state.
