Jamshedpur, May 24: A period of unsettled weather is on the horizon, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected to affect various parts of the state over the next several days.

Met officials advised residents to remain alert and take safety precautions.

Detailed Forecast

May 25: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 40–50 Kmph are likely at isolated places across the state, excluding the North-Western region, where wind speeds are expected to be slightly lower at 30–40 kmph.

May 26 to 29: The entire state is expected to continue experiencing thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds peaking at 40–50 kmph at isolated locations.

Weather System Update

A trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan to northeast Madhya Pradesh, crossing through north Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh at around 0.9 km above mean sea level, is contributing to the unstable weather conditions.

In addition, a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around May 27. It is expected to intensify over the following two days, potentially impacting regional weather further.

People are urged to follow updates from the meteorological department and exercise caution during thunderstorms, especially in open areas or near trees and electrical infrastructure.
