Jamshedpur, April 11: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several parts of Jharkhand, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over the next four days.

On April 11, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in the eastern parts of the state.
Other regions, including the south-western, central, and adjoining north-eastern areas, may also experience similar conditions with slightly lower wind speeds of 30-40 Kmph.

The alert continues through April 12 to 14, with thunderstorms and winds gusting up to 50 Kmph expected to impact most regions. On April 13, the entire state except the north-western districts is expected to be affected, while on April 14, all districts except Garhwa and Palamu are likely to experience inclement weather.
The persistent low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal, coupled with multiple upper-air cyclonic circulations over northwest Madhya Pradesh and northeast Bihar, is contributing to the unstable weather conditions.
Residents are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorm activity, secure loose objects, and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.
