Jamshedpur, Sept 26: In a major festive boost for its workforce, Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) on Friday credited bonus payments into the bank accounts of its permanent employees.
The company disbursed nearly Rs 10 crore as part of the annual bonus settlement.
As per the agreement, the bonus was calculated at 55% of the employees’ basic salary.

Workers at the lower end of the pay scale, with a basic of Rs 27,000, received Rs 15,000 as bonus, while those drawing a basic salary of Rs 1 lakh were paid up to Rs 55,000.
The distribution covered employees across UCIL’s seven uranium mines — Jadugoda, Baghjata, Bhatin, Narwa Pahar, Turamdih, Mahuldih, and Banduhurang Open Cast — as well as the Tummalapalle project in Andhra Pradesh.
The tradition of annual bonus payments at UCIL was established following a week-long strike in 2022, spearheaded by Singhbhum Uranium Mazdoor Union under the leadership of its president, Babu Lal Soren.
