Lucknow, March 27: A shocking incident unfolded in Manpur Chachari village, where a 36-year-old man allegedly killed his four children before taking his own life. The horrifying incident came to light on Thursday morning when the man’s father discovered the bodies.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi stated that Rajiv Kumar slit the throats of his three daughters—Smriti (12), Kirti (9), Pragati (7)—and his five-year-old son, Rishabh, using a sharp weapon. After killing them, he went to another room and hanged himself.

His father, upon finding the door locked in the morning, climbed onto the roof and entered the house through the staircase, only to witness the gruesome scene.

Investigators found a sandpaper and the murder weapon at the crime scene, indicating that Rajiv had sharpened the blade before carrying out the killings. His wife was not present at the time, as she had gone to her maternal home the previous day.

Family members disclosed that Rajiv had been struggling with behavioral changes after suffering a severe head injury in an accident a year ago. The injury had left him prone to agitation and distress. Police are still investigating the exact motive behind the incident.
