Ranchi, Jan 25: Ranchi’s Khelgaon witnessed stellar performances in the first Jharkhand State Tennis Tournament, where Vijeeta and Syed Aisa Ahmed claimed double crowns.
Vijeeta triumphed in the girls’ under-12 singles and doubles categories, while Syed Aisa Ahmed dominated the women’s singles and mixed doubles events. Both players became the highlight of the tournament, showcasing exceptional skill and endurance.
Sahil Amin bags men’s singles title
In the men’s singles category final, Ranchi’s top tennis player, Sahil Amin, defeated fellow Ranchi player Aditya Singh with a decisive 8-1 victory to claim the title.
Defending his title, Sahil showcased exceptional performance throughout the tournament. With his powerful forehand and outstanding serves, Sahil maintained pressure on his opponents from the very beginning. Ultimately, he secured dominant victories in all rounds.
In the semifinal, Sahil defeated Dhanbad’s tennis player Rohit Kumar Lala with a commanding 8-0 score to secure his place in the final.

Rising Star Alabhya wins U-12 Trophy
Alabhya of Ranchi delivered a remarkable performance, securing the girls’ under-12 doubles title and finishing as the runner-up in the under-12 singles event.
In a much-anticipated final, Vijeeta defeated Alabhya in the girls’ under-12 singles. Later, the duo teamed up to win the girls’ under-12 doubles final, convincingly defeating Meher Darkkhasha and Sanaya Sharma with a score of 7-0.
Closing Ceremony and Recognition
The tournament concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony, where ADG, JAP, Priya Dubey, graced the event as the chief guest and presented trophies to winners and runners across various categories. The event highlighted the growing interest in tennis in Jharkhand.
Future Stars of Jharkhand Tennis
Officials from the Jharkhand State Tennis Association commended the performance of several players, emphasizing the immense potential among local talents.
Alabhya’s recent achievements, including her singles title at the JSCA Tennis Academy and her impressive run at the national tournament in Raipur, received special mention.
They also praised Syed Aisa Ahmed, expressing confidence in her ability to excel at national and international levels.
