Meteorologists said the monsoon trough at mean sea level currently passes through a deep depression over southeast Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan and Kutch, extending across Kota, Orai, Siddhi, Ranchi, Digha, and further eastwards into the northeast Bay of Bengal.

In addition, an upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, off the Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts, between 1.5 Km and 5.8 Km above mean sea level, tilting southwards with height. This system is expected to enhance rainfall activity in Jharkhand and neighbouring regions.
