Jamshedpur: The Sikh community has demanded immediate action against BJP MLA Subhendu Adhikari from West Bengal for his derogatory remarks against a Sikh IPS officer.

Appeal to PM, Home Minister and BJP President

Sikh advocate Kulwinder Singh appealed to the country’s Prime Minister, Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda to expel West Bengal BJP leader and MLA Subhendu Adhikari from the party.

Adhikari had allegedly made racial remarks against Jaspreet Singh, an IPS Sikh officer, during official duties.

Kulvinder Singh emphasized that such comments are unacceptable in a civilized society and constitute a crime in a constitutional democratic country. He urged for strict legal action, stating that individuals making such remarks should find their place in jail.

Drawing attention to the BJP’s historical stance on the 1984 Sikh genocide, Singh highlighted the need for the party’s leadership to act against itself. He called for the BJP to demonstrate the same sympathy, love and trust towards the minority community, particularly the Sikhs.

Singh urges action against racial remarks on Sikh identity

Singh emphasized that Sikhs, with their history written in golden letters, do not need to prove their loyalty to the nation and criticized any attempts to label religious identity as racial commentary or indicative of Khalistan.

He criticized Sikh leaders within the BJP who, in the pursuit of party loyalty, have allegedly forgotten their history and become tools in the hands of leaders with racist tendencies, undermining national unity and integrity.

In a final appeal, Singh called on the Chairman of the National Minorities Commission and the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the matter and initiate appropriate action against those who threaten communal harmony and the dignity of Sikh identity.
