Jamshedpur: The Police Public Coordination Committee kick-started a crucial drug de-addiction campaign at Bhalubasa Chowk today, aiming to combat the rising menace of drug addiction in the city.
Senior DSP calls for action against addiction
Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhola Prasad Singh, emphasized the need for a drug-free society to ensure a healthy environment during the campaign’s inaugural meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Singh expressed his belief that the de-addiction campaign would generate awareness among the people, influencing the societal values for future generations.
He highlighted the alarming increase in addiction, describing it as a growing concern, particularly among young children. Singh urged society to step forward and engage in open communication, stressing the critical importance of addressing the issue.

Shiv Pujan Singh urges community action
The meeting presided over by Shiv Pujan Singh and organized under the Civil Defense Committee’s coordination, saw the participation of key figures, including Anjani Kumar Tiwari, the in-charge of Sitaram Dera police station, and numerous senior social workers from the city.
Shiv Pujan Singh, in his presidential address, urged the community to recognize the gravity of the situation. He emphasized that decisions made today would shape the future of society, especially considering the alarming number of young individuals falling into the clutches of drug addiction.

Program coordinator DD Tripathi expressed concern over the increasing grip of drug addiction on the younger generation, identifying it as a significant challenge for the community’s future. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat the sale and consumption of illegal drugs, which has adversely impacted the city.
Several prominent figures, including Ramesh Kunwar, Renu Singh, Gautam Dubey, Munna Chaubey, Srinivas Tiwari, Ghanshyam Pandey, Birendra Singh, and Rajkumar Verma, addressed the gathering.
The program, coordinated by Bunty Singh, witnessed active participation from various community members, reflecting the shared commitment to tackling the drug addiction crisis.
