Ranchi, May 8: The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday launched an official mobile application for providing digital access to its services to everyone.

The phone application, which was launched by Acting Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar in the high court provides details of case status, display board, cause list and access to other important links of the high court website.

The Acting Chief Justice said that the Android Mobile Application and the QR directory will bring convenience to the lawyers, litigants and citizens. 

Justice SN Prasad, Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan among others were present on the occasion.

3,51,622 final orders and judgements uploaded 

Justice Ananda Sen, Chairperson of the Computer and Digitization Committee, said that the new app will give ease of access to everyone to avail services like case status, cause list, orders and judgements, display board, e-filing, getting certified copies and other services. The app also provides direct access to e-HCR where more than 3,51,622 Final orders and judgements of the High Court of Jharkhand have so far been uploaded.

He said that the QR directory will immensely help the litigates who can directly access the individual e-services by scanning the QR code. The directory is released in both Hindi and English language which will be helpful to everyone. 

Justice Sen said that the day is not far away when lawyers need not carry files and journals to the courtroom and can appear in the court paperless. 

At present two courts are running paperless in the High Court of Jharkhand and the case proceedings of one court is on live streaming. 

24769 cases disposed of in 70 days: Acting CJ 

Earlier, Acting Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar said that the technology has transformed court proceedings, streamlined processes and enhanced accessibility and efficiency. 

He pointed out that the Jharkhand High Court has disposed of 24769 cases between January 1 to April 30 (70 days). “During this period, the rate of disposal in civil matters is recorded at 176.59% and in the criminal matters at 123.34%. The average rate of clearance of cases in this quadrimester is 138.41% leading to a reduction in the total pendency by over 6.11% and the final pendency figures at the closing of the First Quadrimester on April 30 is 35,435 civil cases and 44,930 criminal cases aggregating to total pendency of 80365 cases compared to total pendency as on January 1 at 85,593.
