Jamshedpur, July 11: In an effort to keep Sikh youth connected to the teachings of the Guru and Sikh history, the final of the ‘Gaavho Sachi Bani’ Kirtan Competition and Sikh History Quiz will be held on August 4 at Sakchi Gurudwara starting at 9 am.
The auditions for the Kirtan Competition and the written exam for the Sikh History Competition will take place on July 28 at Bistupur G Town Gurudwara at 10 am.
The organizers launched the event’s poster at three locations: Sakchi Gurudwara, Central Gurudwara Managing Committee, and Bistupur Gurudwara.

This multi-location launch aims to encourage maximum participation from the Sikh community, helping them stay connected to their heritage. Both Sakchi and Bistupur Gurudwara Committees will play crucial roles in organizing the event, with the support of the Sangat.
Guru ka Atoot Langar will be distributed to participants and attendees during both events. Additionally, Sikh personalities and dignitaries will be felicitated by the organizers.

The final competition of the Gurbani Kirtan on August 4 will feature Bibi Simran Kaur, trained from Ludhiana, as a judge, alongside a senior Granthi to check Gurbani pronunciation.
Huzuri Ragi of Takht Patna Sahib Harmandir Ji will also grace the event, sharing the teachings of Gurbani. Participants will perform 31 Ragas-based Gurbani Shabads from Sri Guru Granth Sahib, with judgments based on rhythm, tune, and pronunciation.
The Sikh History Quiz is open to participants aged 10 to 20 and 21 to 40. The first group will face questions on the recitations of 8th Guru Harkishan Sahib Ji, Japuji Sahib, and Rehiras, while the second group will answer questions related to the history from 7th Guru Hariray Ji to 9th Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, and recitations of Jaap Sahib, Anand Sahib Paath, and Sukhmani Sahib.
Participants must enroll by filling out forms available at Sakchi, Bistupur, Sonari, and Golpahari Gurudwaras.
Forms can also be requested via phone or WhatsApp (7004702894, 9031384624, 9234661896, 8873961782) and submitted by July 20. The fee is Rs. 50 for the history competition and Rs. 100 for the Kirtan competition.
Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded to top performers in the Kirtan competition, with first prizes at Rs. 3001, second prizes at Rs. 2001, and third prizes at Rs. 1100. Winners of the history quiz will also receive prizes, along with consolation prizes for all participants.
