Dhanbad, July 16: Now, Shighradarshanam of Baba Baidyanath will be at Rs 300 on general days and Rs 600 on special days.
The Deoghar district administration after meeting with all stakeholders including officials of Dharmarakshani Sabha, representatives of Thirth Purohit Sabha and Panda Samaj decided to increase the charge of Shighradarshanam.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Deoghar Vishal Sagar presided over the meeting.
The authorities have increased the Rs 50 general day charge to Rs 100 on special days. Earlier, Rs 250 was fixed for Shighradarshanam on general days and Rs 500 on special days (Sunday, Monday) on which a massive number of devotees turned up for Darshan of Baba Baidyanath in October 2023.

In January 2023, the district administration and Baba Baidyanath Temple committee fixed Rs 1000 for Shighradarshan on special days and Rs 500 on general days. But in October it was reduced to Rs 250 from Rs 500 and Rs 500 from Rs 1000 respectively.
Ban on VIP and out-of-turn Darshan
The inter-state coordination committee of Jharkhand – Bihar has banned VIP and out-of-turn Darshan of Baba Baidyanath during the month-long Shravan Mela starting from July 22.
A meeting under Santhal Pargana Divisional Commissioner Lalchand Dandel was held at Deoghar circuit house on Monday evening to review the preparation of month long Mela and decided to impose a complete ban on VIPs and out-of-turn Darshan of devotees during the period.
Since more than two lakh devotees turn up daily to offer Gangajal to the 12th Jyotirlingam per day, VIP and out-of-turn Darshan are banned to avoid any unnecessary rush in the temple premises.
Besides Santhal Pargana Commissioner, Bhagalpur Division Commissioner, Munger Division Commissioner, IG Dumka, IG Bhagalpur, DIG Munger, DIG Bhagalpur, Collector Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, Jamui, Deputy Commissioner Deoghar, Superintendent of Police Banka, Deoghar, Godda and other senior officials of both states were present and put up a road map for making Shravani Mela successful.
