Ranchi, September 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off six ‘Vande Bharat Trains’ from Ranchi.

Due to heavy rains, PM Modi was unable to flag off the trains from Tatanagar railway station as was scheduled earlier due to heavy rains in Jamshedpur, so he virtually flagged off the trains from Ranchi.

PM’s road show which was scheduled on Jamshedpur’s Bistupur Main Road was also cancelled due to the incessant rain. However, later the PM left for Jamshedpur from Ranchi via road.

The Vande Bharat trains flagged off by PM Modi will run between Berhampur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Howrah-Gaya, Dumka-Howrah and Howrah-Bhagalpur.

These trains will enhance religious tourism in the region by offering quicker transportation to pilgrimage destinations such as Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar (Jharkhand), Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Kalighat, and Belur Math in Kolkata (West Bengal).

Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several railway projects valued at over Rs 660 crore.
