Wildlife Week celebration concludes at Tata Zoo

Jamshedpur, Oct 7: On the closing day of Wildlife Week Celebrations 2024 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park today, an on-the-spot painting competition for primary section (Nursery – Std. I) and Junior (Std. II – Std. V) categories was organised.

A total of 506 students from 21 schools participated in the competition which was followed by the closing ceremony during which winners were presented awards to all the categories of on-the-spot painting competition and essay writing competition.

Guests for the closing ceremony were Vinay Kumar Sharma, treasurer of Tata Steel Zoological Society (TSZS), M. Palit, officer in-charge, Tata Steel Zoological Park.

Present during the on-the-spot painting competition from Tata Steel Zoological Park were Naim Akhtar- Dy. Director, S.K. Mahato – curator and all zoo staff.

Wildlife Week 2024 overview

Wildlife Week Celebrations- 2024 started on 2nd October 2024 and witnessed a number of events including an on-the-spot essay competition, inter-school debate competition, fancy dress parade and on-the-spot painting competition.

A total of around 1000 students from more than 30 institutions participated in these competitions.

The Wildlife Week celebrations were coordinated by Seema Rani, biologist cum education officer along with her education team member Pratap Singh Gill, zoo volunteer Sayok Sarkar and volunteers from Tata Steel Foundation.

All zoo staff and officers of Tata Steel Zoological Park also actively participated in making the weeklong celebrations a success.
