Daltonganj, Nov 20: A 5 km long extremely dilapidated black top road has been repaired by an assistant sub-inspector rank police official and his team in close coordination with the civil society under Pathra police picket in Palamu.

The 5 km stretch of road is between Mahuari More and Belaghaat under the Pathra police picket. It had potholes every 1 meter. There was one pothole which was like a ‘well’.

In charge of Pathra police picket  Mantu Kumar Singh and his team approached civil society activists and got this road repaired.

How he got it done is most interesting.

Mantu said, “First I approached civil society activists and procured stone dust. It was given all free.”

Then arose the question of the transportation of the stone specks of dust to the potholes.

Mantu Kumar Singh said, “I arranged around 30 litres of diesel and gave it to a JCB operator who transported the stone dust from the nearby stone quarry to the potholes. Thus this road was repaired. Its potholes are now mended.”

The Pathra police picket was careful. The repair work was done after days of the polling. There were around 25 polling stations under the Pathra police picket limits.
