Jamshedpur, Dec 14: Unidentified criminals shot dead a para-teacher Sonu Singh Sardar under the Gamharia thana area in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district about 15 km away from here late on Friday night.

The husband of corporator Parvati Sardar, Sonu Singh Sardar (40) was attacked at around midnight while he was riding back home having attended a marriage ceremony at Ganjia village in Gamharia.

The assailants who were waiting at Badadih village opened fire at the victim while he was riding on his bike, causing him to die on the spot.

The police sources said as many as seven shots had hit Sonu Singh Sardar, suggesting that the assailants wanted to ensure that the victim would be under no condition to be taken to any hospital.

As the victim was a popular figure in Gamharia, his murder triggered a sensation across the area.

Arjun Munda visits victim’s family

Senior BJP leader and former chief minister Arjun Munda visited the victim’s house in Gamharia and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

The former chief minister also expressed his concern about the deteriorating law and order situation in the region.

The police have started an investigation into the sensational murder of the para teacher and are reportedly trying to detect the killers.
