CII Young Indians Jamshedpur shines at Annual Flagship Summit

Jamshedpur, Dec 26: The CII Young Indians (Yi) Jamshedpur chapter achieved remarkable success at the recently concluded Annual Flagship Summit ‘Take Pride,’ held in Kolkata on December 20-21, 2024. The chapter garnered four prestigious awards, celebrating its exceptional contributions to nation-building and youth leadership throughout the year.

Award for Project MASOOM

Among the accolades, Yi Jamshedpur was honored for its impactful initiatives under the MASOOM program, aimed at ensuring a safe childhood. The award, presented by legendary sportsperson Saina Nehwal, recognized the chapter’s relentless efforts to create awareness about child safety and eliminate child sexual abuse.

Under Project MASOOM, Yi conducted sensitization sessions on safe and unsafe touch and digital safety for children, teachers, and parents/caregivers. Activities included awareness campaigns, social media initiatives, and community events. The project was led by Rashmi Kauntia, Debasmita Guha Bhalotia, and Preeti Jhunjhunwala, supported by other members of the chapter.

Outstanding work with school children

Yi Jamshedpur was also recognized as the Best Chapter among 70 cities across India for its exemplary work with school children. This award, presented by Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy, highlighted the chapter’s dedication to fostering youth engagement and education.

With initiatives implemented across more than 250 schools in Jamshedpur, the Thalir team, comprising Rahul Bhagat, Neha Agrawal, Bijal Mehta, Sneha Agrawal, and other volunteers, played a pivotal role. The visionary leadership of Vedang Gutgutia and Shraddha Agrawal ensured the success of these innovative programs.

Award for road safety initiatives

Another award celebrated Yi Jamshedpur’s impactful work on road safety, which reached over 50,000 children and adults in 2024. Presented by legendary Indian cricketer and former BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly, this award acknowledged the chapter’s commitment to creating a safer environment. The Road Safety team included Shruti Jhunjhunwala, Sakshi Agarwal, Sunil Parikh, and Akash Anand.

Recognition for health related-initiatives

Yi Jamshedpur’s health-related initiatives also earned recognition as the Best Chapter in this domain. These initiatives focused on mental health, hygiene, sanitation, and combating drug abuse. Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj presented this prestigious award at the summit. The health initiatives were spearheaded by Umang Agarwal, Mokshita Gautam, and Ankit Agarwal.

YI Jamshedpur leaders pledge commitment to nation-building

Udit Agrawal, Chairman of Yi Jamshedpur for 2024, expressed his gratitude and pride in the chapter’s achievements. “Yi is committed to nation-building through youth leadership. Over the years, the Yi Jamshedpur chapter has evolved as an organization of significance and has contributed immensely to impactful causes. We are thankful to our past leadership for their efforts and guidance and are proud to have played a significant role towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he said.

Koushik Modi, Co-Chair, Yi Jamshedpur 2024, added, “Altogether, 71 members of Yi Jamshedpur represented the chapter at the summit this year. The awards exemplify the efforts of our organization, led by young entrepreneurs, towards driving meaningful change and fostering a sense of responsibility in the community.”
