Jamshedpur, Dec 30: The Met office prediction has good news in store for New Year revellers.
IMD offices in both Patna and Ranchi have predicted dry weather in Jharkhand on January 1.
The weather forecast suggests shallow fog and mist early in the morning on Wednesday, January 1, and clear weather later in the day.
Weathermen ruled out possibility of rain. Moreover, the forecast for New Year’s Day also indicated the intensification of chill as the minimum reading is expected to witness a fall by 2-4 degree Celsius in the next 72 hours.
“In today’s study of satellite pictures and wind chart analysis we did not find any adverse conditions on New Year’s Day on Wednesday,” said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
According to him, the weather will be fair and pleasant in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj and elsewhere in the state.
Maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 26-28°C and minimum readings around 11-13°C in most places on the New Year’s Day.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 14.9 degrees Celsius, six notches above normal while the Steel city of Jamshedpur recorded 16.6 degrees Celsius, also six notches above normal.
Chaibasa in neighbouring West Singhbhum district recorded a minimum temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal.
Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius, seven notches above normal while Bokaro today recorded a minimum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand.
The Western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation was over Northwest Uttar Pradesh at 3.1 Km above mean sea level with a trough aloft in upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
The induced cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan at 1.5 Km above mean sea level persists.
