Jamshedpur, Jan 23: Sakchi police station in-charge, Inspector Anand Mishra, successfully completed the 42.197 km full marathon at the prestigious 20th Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025. He took 5 hours, 23 minutes, and 31 seconds to complete the marathon. This marked his debut in the full marathon category, having previously participated in half-marathon events.

Inspector Mishra received a warm welcome and was honoured by various organizations upon his return to the city. His participation and achievement have inspired many in Jamshedpur.

The marathon, flagged off by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, attracted over 50,000 participants this year.

The event included multiple categories such as the full marathon, half marathon, 10 km race, dream run, senior citizen run, and champions with disability run. Tight security arrangements were made by the Mumbai police to ensure a smooth event.

In the men’s full marathon category, Berhane Tesfay of Eritrea clinched the gold medal with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 44 seconds, followed closely by fellow Eritrean Merhavi Kesete and Ethiopia’s Tesfaye Demeke.

Among Indian runners, Anish Thapa emerged as the best performer, completing the race in 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 23 seconds, with Man Singh securing second place among Indians.

Inspector Mishra’s dedication to fitness and his successful debut in the full marathon have set an inspiring example for others in the police force and beyond.
