Jamshedpur, March 10: Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-charge, Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) of Tata Steel, has been conferred with the prestigious Global Sustainable Mining Award at the 3rd Odisha Mining and Infrastructure Conclave held in Bhubaneswar.

The Governor of Odisha,  Hari Babu Kambhampati, presented the award to Satija for honouring Excellence in Sustainable Mining Practices by Recognising Innovation, Responsibility and Progress in the Industry.

Expressing gratitude for the coveted award, Satija said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this award, which is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainable mining. At Tata Steel, we continuously strive to innovate and implement responsible mining practices that contribute to mineral conservation, environmental protection and community development, ensuring a greener and more inclusive world for the future generation.”

Notably, under Satija’s leadership, FAMD has been at the forefront of sustainable mining, incorporating advanced technologies, biodiversity conservation initiatives, and community welfare projects.

The Odisha Mining and Infrastructure Conclave is a global platform that unites stakeholders in the mining and infrastructure sectors to drive innovation, sustainability and growth.
