At the time, all three medical professionals were in the labour room, attending to an emergency case. Meanwhile, Sagar, Kamlesh, and Amal arrived at the hospital in an intoxicated state. Sagar had sustained injuries on his hands and legs from a fall. After providing him with treatment, Dr. Minz returned to the labour room to care for a critical patient.

However, soon after, the three inebriated youths began assaulting the nurses. Hearing their screams, Dr. Minz rushed to their aid, only to be abused with obscene language. The attackers also overturned tables and damaged hospital infrastructure.

“JSHSA has urged the Gumla DC and SP to take strict legal action against the attackers and to establish a police picket on the CHC campus to ensure the safety of lady doctors and nurses on duty,” said JSHSA Secretary Dr. Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh.

JDN Condemns the Attack

The IMA Junior Doctors Network (JDN) strongly condemned the attack on Dr. Minz and the nurses during their night duty on Holi and demanded strict action against the culprits.

JDN State Secretary Dr. Raghvendra Kumar stated that both the national JDN body and state units from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have expressed concern over the incident.
