Daltonganj, March 30: A team from the Town Police, led by Officer-in-Charge Deobrat Poddar, visited around half a dozen mosques within the town police station’s jurisdiction today. They inspected the arrangements made by mosque management for the upcoming Eid Namaz.

Residents near Noori Mosque informed the police about the expected spillover of worshippers onto the streets on Eid day. The mosque, a two-story structure, has a top roof with a secure railing, which serves as an additional prayer area.

Officer Poddar assured, “Our officers will be present here from early morning until the Eid Namaz concludes.”

He further stated that there would be no obstruction to movement, as a lane near the mosque would help manage the crowd. The area is home to both Hindus and Muslims, who have long coexisted peacefully.

The police team then visited the Ahle Hadith Mosque, where women offer prayers on the ground floor while men pray on the first floor, as confirmed by local residents. This mosque is the first in the town to allow Muslim women to pray within its premises. The Eid Namaz here is scheduled between 6:15 AM and 6:30 AM, according to locals.

At Chhoti Masjid, where access is through a narrow passage, Officer Poddar mentioned that the police would deploy smart officers to manage traffic and crowds effectively.

Meanwhile, worshippers at Chhoti Masjid expressed their gratitude to Sushil Modi, a Hindu resident, who generously offered his newly built complex for Alvida Juma Namaz last Friday. Many locals praised his gesture, saying, “As long as people like Sushil Modi exist, love and trust between Hindus and Muslims will remain unshaken.”
