Jharkhand News: Traffic diversions, restrictions implemented in Ranchi for next three days

Ranchi, April 5: Traffic arrangements in Ranchi have been changed for three days starting today. During this period, no-entry restrictions will be enforced on several routes.

Today (April 5), the Ram Navami tableau will be taken out, followed by the Shobha Yatra tomorrow, April 6. The next day, on April 7, a procession will be held for the immersion of Maa Durga’s idol. In view of these events, changes have been made to the traffic arrangements.

From 4 PM on April 5 to 6 AM on April 6, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter urban areas. All heavy goods vehicles will use the Ring Road to reach their destinations.

Normal traffic from Kishori Yadav Chowk towards Upper Bazar, Mahavir Mandir Chowk, and Shaheed Chowk will remain suspended. Similarly, the movement of vehicles from Mahavir Mandir Chowk and Subhash Chowk towards Upper Bazar will also be prohibited.

On the day of Ram Navami, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering urban areas from 1 PM until the end of the procession. All types of heavy goods vehicles will be diverted via the Ring Road to reach their destinations.

Route Changes for Private and Passenger Vehicles on Ram Navami

  • Movement of regular vehicles will be prohibited from Kishori Yadav Chowk towards Upper Bazar, Mahavir Mandir Chowk, and Shaheed Chowk, as well as from Mahavir Mandir Chowk and Subhash Chowk towards Upper Bazar.
  • Entry of regular vehicles will be restricted on the route from SSP Residence Chowk to Kutchery Chowk and Shaheed Chowk.
  • Vehicles coming via Circular Road will be allowed up to Jail Chowk only and will have to divert from there to other routes.
  • Entry of regular vehicles will be prohibited on the road from Zakir Hussain Park towards Commissioner Chowk and Radium Chowk.
  • Movement of regular vehicles will not be allowed from the Old Municipal Corporation Office road towards Commissioner Chowk.
  • Regular vehicles will be restricted from moving towards Albert Ekka Chowk from Chadri Talab.
  • Movement of regular vehicles will be prohibited from Plaza Chowk towards Albert Ekka Chowk.
  • Regular vehicles will not be allowed to move from Purulia Road towards Sarjana Chowk.
  • Entry of regular vehicles from SN Ganguly Road, Vishnu Gali, Budhiya Gali, and Radheshyam Gali towards Main Road will be prohibited.
  • Movement of regular vehicles will be restricted from Church Road towards Main Road.
  • Regular vehicles will not be allowed to move towards Main Road near Ul House.
  • Movement of regular vehicles will be prohibited from Karbala Chowk towards Ratan PP.
  • Entry of regular vehicles will be restricted from PP Compound towards Sujata Chowk.
  • Both sides of Chutia Bazar Road will be closed for vehicle movement.
  • Movement of all regular vehicles from Rajendra Chowk towards Overbridge and Sujata Chowk will be restricted.
  • Movement of regular vehicles from Piska More towards Ratu Road New Market Chowk will be prohibited.

Traffic Changes for Chaiti Durga Puja

On April 7, from 8 AM to midnight, the entry of heavy vehicles into Ranchi’s urban areas will be prohibited. All heavy goods vehicles will be required to use the Ring Road.

During the Chaiti Durga immersion procession, routes leading to the immersion points will be diverted as needed.

Additionally, traffic on other roads in Ranchi will also be diverted based on the Ram Navami procession and related events, as necessary.
