Dhanbad, April 15: Fast Forward India (FFI), a registered NGO run by IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, organized a mega blood donation camp on Monday, collecting 88 units of blood.

The day-long drive, held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the IIT ISM Health Centre, was conducted in collaboration with Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) and Asian Jalan Hospital. Organizers ensured that all standard medical and safety guidelines were strictly followed.

The camp was jointly inaugurated by IIT ISM Deputy Director Prof. Dheeraj Kumar, Dean of Students Welfare Prof. Sunil Kumar, and Assistant Registrar Prabodh Pandey. The dignitaries praised the FFI team for their commitment to social welfare and community health.

Sanjeev Sahu, Chief of the Centre for Societal Mission (CSM), and Dipika Sharma, faculty advisor of the institute, were also present and encouraged student volunteers for their contribution. A large number of students turned up to donate blood; however, many had to return due to the limited time window of the camp.

“The overwhelming response surpassed our expectations. We are happy to have contributed to a critical cause and plan to organize similar camps regularly to support patients in need,” said FFI President Sachin Bansal.

Fast Forward India has earned a reputation as a key blood donor organization in Dhanbad, regularly supporting both government and private hospitals, especially for poor and underprivileged patients.

A senior official at SNMMCH said that the FFI donation came at a critical time when the hospital’s blood bank was facing a severe shortage, providing vital relief to many patients in dire need.
