Jamshedpur, April 17: Netaji Subhas University witnessed an insightful event as it hosted a cyber peace awareness seminar focusing on the pressing issues of cybersecurity and cyber hygiene.

The seminar, held under the leadership of the School of Engineering and IT, was organized in collaboration with the Jamshedpur Police and the Cyber Peace Corps.

The primary objective of the seminar was to sensitize students about the significance of cyber safety, responsible digital behavior, and ways to protect themselves from cyber threats and crimes.

In today’s rapidly evolving digital era, awareness of cyber threats is crucial, and this event served as a major step toward building a secure and informed digital community.

The seminar featured several distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives: Navita Prasad – renowned speaker and leading cyber awareness advocate; Shrinivas Kumar – officer-in-charge, Cyber Police Station; Tarak Das – state coordinator, Cyber Peace Corps

The event commenced with a welcome address, setting the stage for an inaugural speech by Navita Prasad. She emphasized the importance of digital safety and highlighted the vital role of Cyber Peace Corps in shaping a digitally secure India. Her address served as a call to action for students to be proactive and vigilant in the online world.

Following this, Shrinivas Kumar gave an in-depth presentation on the role of law enforcement in combating cybercrime. By citing real-world case studies, he demonstrated how timely collaboration between tech experts and the police can effectively thwart major cyber threats.

Tarak Das, a seasoned educator and speaker, delved into the ethics of cyberspace and the psychological effects of cybercrimes. He urged students to be responsible digital citizens and encouraged them to report any suspicious online activity to the concerned authorities without delay.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students engaged with the speakers, raising pertinent questions and seeking guidance on cyber safety practices.

The enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by the participants reflected the success of the event in igniting awareness and interest in the domain of cyber security.

Overall, the seminar proved to be highly educational and impactful. It not only enhanced students’ understanding of cyber threats but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards creating a safer digital ecosystem.
