According to the latest weather bulletin, heatwave conditions are likely to occur at isolated places over Dumka, Pakur, and Godda districts on May 10.

The situation is set to worsen by May 11, with more areas falling under the grip of extreme heat.

The districts of Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj have been identified as regions that may experience severe heatwave conditions.

This alert comes in the wake of an east-west trough system that currently extends from southwest Rajasthan to north Jharkhand, running across a cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and north Chhattisgarh.

This system lies at about 0.9 Km above mean sea level and is influencing the prevailing weather patterns in eastern India.

People are advised to take necessary precautions, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and outdoor workers.

The administration in the affected districts is likely to step up awareness and precautionary measures, including distribution of water, ensuring access to shade, and advising against strenuous activities during peak afternoon hours.

Met department has asked people to stay updated with the latest advisories and to avoid exposure to the sun, particularly during the afternoon when temperatures are at its peak.

With conditions primed for a heatwave, preparedness and caution remain the best defense.

Stay safe, stay hydrated.
