Daltonganj, May 22: The Daltonganj town police on Thursday took a detour of the three constituent colleges of the Nilamber Pitamber University, where UG and PG courses’ exams are going on.

“It was just to feel the pulse of the examinees. I just wanted to see the level of confidence in the examinees,” said the officer in charge of the town police station, Deobrat Poddar.

At the Yodh Singh Namdhari Mahila college, the in-charge centre superintendent, Dr Mashrique Jahan, told the police officer Poddar, “The posse of police force does come in time on the campus when there is an examination. However, lady cops leave us much to be desired.”

“Our strength of the lady cops is very limited. We send here what we have. We can’t do much,” replied the police officer Poddar.

“Exams at the Yodh Singh Namdhari Mahila College centre are going on fair and peacefully”, claimed the in-charge centre superintendent.

Earlier, the police officer had a tête-à-tête with the principal of the oldest college Ganesh Lal Agrawal (GLA) College, Dr I J Khalkho, who was too happy to see the police officer on the campus.

Khalkho then offered tea, saying, “The principal of this college is a poor principal who can afford hospitality of low key.”

The police officer said, “I was moved to see the simplicity of this principal Dr I J Khalkho.” Everyone there sipped the tea.

Sources said the police officer was quite cautious about not entering the exam hall. He knew what the sanctity of the exams means.

At the Yodh Singh Namdhari Mahila College this police officer spotted a young boy who was quite busy setting his dishevelled hair.

As this young boy was trying to look more handsome or smarter right before the gate of the Mahila College, this police officer thought of reprimanding him, telling him his gesture and posture right in front of the gate of the Mahila College, is dubious. The young boy stopped setting his hair right.

Many girls standing close to the wall of the Mahila college couldn’t hide their glee as to how this young boy was so tamed by the police officer.
